I am Sh'kaii, chronicler of the Ages and last of the Great Wyrms. It has been solemn task to collect and write the events and history of Caldyria, world of Order and Chaos, as completely as I've been able. I am Sh'kaii, chronicler of the Ages and last of the Great Wyrms. During my life I've been called by more names than I can remember. I was the Flaming Tyrant, the Great White One, the Master of Fate, Truth and Lies, The Keeper of the Gates and Seals, the Shadowguard, the Banisher of Darkness, Eater of the Void, Mistwalker, Great Teacher and friend. These days I'm just a humble scribe trying to remember all the pieces of lore and knowledge. I've seen things and done things so horrible that it ashames me. I've known and forgotten more secrets than most can know in their entire lifetime. I was one of those responsible of the Breaking, when we thought that Order and Chaos we're ours to command as we willed. In my haughtyness I did horrible things to my kin, and to other people of our world, and trying to amend what we did, I set myself to a solemn task of collecting pieces of knowledge from past, history and events that shaped the Caldyria and led it where it now stands, so other might learn from our mistakes. Mistakes, it seems, are the identifying quality of our species. Mistakes that affect every living creature of Tholac, Rialac and Ohtlac even in these days.

It's a daunting task that I have no illusions of being able to complete, but I hope my work will serve others who come after me. I've mostly concentrated specifically on my home world of Tholac, world of Light, but have also dipped in to our neighbors Ohtlac and Rialac, worlds of Mist and Shadow.

But the tell the story I must first tell of our people, the wyrdharmii, who other people call wyrms or dragons.

Like all true beings, our species has no recollection or knowledge of the exact time of our creation, but with research and work of thousands we have estimated that it happened millions of years before we gained sentience. Indeed, we have found the remains of the Ancients, that came before us, and even older ones that came before them, and found them to be our ancestors, even if very different in appearance than us.

As time has passed, we have evolved. For communication between our kin we developed language. From the observation of the movements of the Great Constellations, Moons and passage of shadows we developed the concepts of time and the basics of mathematics and physics. For making notes of these, we developed runes of scripture. From our observations of other species we have invented theories of Circle of Life, Order and Chaos, Light and Shadow.

In time we observed other species gain sentience after us, and thought it was our task to educate them and guard them. Among the first creatures were the zurahii, that we saw evolve from tree-dwelling primates to fledling cultures during millenias. We we're proud people back then and when we saw zurahii starting to form tribes we thought it was our task to start the process of educating, sheltering and nurturing the new comers. In our haughtness we chose the tribes we deemed most worthy of our attention, and who pleased our eyes the most. These tribes we called the azurahii, smooth-furred ones.
