Mountainfolk are tribal people who live in the highlands of the Northmountains and Westmountains, where their life is a constant battle for food and resources against the trolls and nature. Mountainfolk are big, strong and sturdy people who are taught to kill almost before they can walk. Their religion concentrates in the worship of their ancestor spirits and are led by powerful shamans and witches. The most feared warriors of Tholac are the berserkers of the Mountainfolk who tattoo their bodies with Runes of Power and Shelter, and run screaming in the midst of the battle.

Mountainfolk are dark-skinned and black-haired, with brown, blue or grey eyes. Average height of a mountainfolk male is 6' 5", weight being 220 lb. Females are slightly smaller and weight less.
