1 acre = 4000 m^2
1 km^2 = 250 acres

= king => Greater baron => lesser baron => lord (sheriff)=> knight (township, hundredman or sheriff)
= English system, of every five hides to provide one soldier in war
= Hundred has 100 hides, or 100 families (kylä ja maatiloja) = 20 soldiers for each hundred
= Ruler of hundred could be lord of the biggest manor in the of the area (or rape), town community or sheriff of the shire (if belongs to the kings lands).
= Typical manor has village with church and land. Some people are land-bound serfs and others are freeholders owning their own hide.
= Lord usually had more than one hundred of land, in which case he had stewards ruling in his place.
= Several hundreds were rapes, and hold a castle, river and forest. Castle usually belongs to the lord of manor owning the hundreds, usually a knight.
= 6 - 32 hundreds form a shire, ruled by a sheriff (who is appointed by the king and serves the local baron) or a lord (noble knight) of the land.
= Shire provides 120 - 640 soldiers to war.
= Lords provide 5-10 knights to their lieges army (depending the size of the shire).

= 100 shires are counties and are ruled by a baron, who serve the king of the country. Number of hundreds in the county varies. There are 10 counties total.
= 5 of the counties are known as greater counties (or Cartias) and 5 are lesser counties. Each greater county is paired with one lesser county, in which the baron of the lesser county is vassal to the baron of the greater.
= Greater counties hold the supreme courts and administration of the county-pair (known as Pairings).

1 lord = 5 - 10 knights = 120 - 640 soldiers
1 (lesser) baron = ~100 lords = 500-1000 knights = 12 000 - 64 000 soldiers
1 (greater) baron = ~100 lords = 500-1000 knights (x2 in total for the pairing)
1 king = 10 baron = 1000 lords = 5000-10000 knights = 120 000 - 640 000 soldiers (max soldiers = ~300 000)

1 pairing = 2 county = 200 shires = 1200 - 6400 hundred = 120 000 - 640 000 hides
